Go around the world with 3 children for a period of 3 to 4 years without having ever sailed on a sailboat before... This is the challenge we set ourselves in 2019 and which will become reality on July 8, 2023, the date of the big departure...
After multiplying the experiences and confirming that the children and we were ready to sail on a sea of oil as in 35 knots of wind and 3 meters of hollow, we embarked on the search for a boat capable of supporting us our dream.
It was important to choose a boat that allows everyone to experience this incredible adventure while remaining a magical moment. Going from a house in the countryside where everyone is able to have space and a modicum of privacy to a boat where we are on and with each other 365 days a year will be a big challenge.
In 2020, we have the chance to go on a first multi-day experience with our children in Croatia on a Bali 4.3. We loved this boat which allows us to use all the living space to take advantage of the good weather by completely opening the cockpit saloon outwards but also to use this same space indoors once the temperatures are cooler or when the weather conditions are more capricious.
We went through the classifieds and visited several boats, wandered the aisles of the Paris boat show for several years and it was in 2021 that we launched the design of our future sailboat: Helia, a Bali 4.6.
We were extremely lucky to have an entourage who followed us and allowed us to realize this magical project....
